Religion & Faith... Certain or Uncertain ...

‘Religion’ one of the most elusive word, I have ever come across. Elusive cause this small, simple, innocent word hides a lot of meanings, practices, ideologies and a whole of attributes behind it.

However the most controversial truth about a religion is the sense of uncertainty instilled by the practitioners of a particular religion. Religion has made some rise to uncharted heights and has made some fall to the lowest of respects. Religion is that integral and unavoidable path of life that we tread along unknowingly most of the times .Some walk along this path with the obsession of a mad lover and some walk mechanically not knowing as to why they are doing something which everybody else are doing. Both the cases there are a sense of ignorance and uncertainty.

The beliefs of people into a religion manifest their hypocrisy to people out of it and those not practicing a religion are an example of atheists to the people into it. It is not necessary that the view point of any of these groups might be right because a person not practicing a religion might not prove to be an atheist concerning the issues about morality, the difference between good and bad which all religions literally teach any believer nor can person into a religion be a hypocrite cause in a way that particular person is bringing more discipline into his life by being a practitioner of a religion.

Religion involves the segregation of humans at the very beginning of one’s birth .It hides the very subtle meaning of humanity, nature and love in itself and reproduces a mélange of these things with some constraints added to it. Constraints some beneficial, some not so beneficial. However the most astonishing fact is that the constraints and essence of the mélange vary from person to person and from religion to religion therefore again establishing the uncertainty.

For some religion may be a package of superstitious beliefs and for some it might be like another new toy in the hands of a two year old, but the only difference is that the two year old here is not so ignorant besides being not so innocent and immature ‘terrible two’s’, I would say .For years religion has been the safest and the best bet for the political leaders. A bet and a ploy that never fails when they woo their innocent voters for the want of majority .It is over this religion and its beliefs that countries wage decades and decades long battles. Wars that put an end to a lot of lives but do not have an end to themselves.

However if the few lines above made u feel certain ,I would say hold on , there is still some uncertainty left . If religion can be a cause of racism , wars ,psychological trauma, superstitious beliefs that lead to the retardation in growth , leads to madness , obsession , atheism , political evils etc., then why do so many people still follow a religion .Well I, myself am uncertain about it .Maybe some of the atheist deep down in their hearts are uncertain about their own ideology of being an atheist .May be some of them think that religion still holds a lot of things and people together in this world .May be the constraints we talked about that a particular religion offers us at the time of our birth hold societies ,culture and nations together. May be its mélange instills a feeling of unitednessinto a sect of people of the same religion on the political front. Therefore this is where the faith enters the world of religion, like a guest in the house of religion. Religion and faith are the two inseparable tracks, they might cross one another at times, their destiny might be the same but faith is a track which depends upon religion .It extracts the best out of a religion. It’s the way of life, a back door to a house which rarely one chooses to live in. It teaches us to learn from our mistakes, strengthens our souls, revives it and sometimes gives a meaning to it .it defines the morality, the difference between the good and the bad and therefore judges one’s character. Faith is the mask on the face of religion. This mask helps us to radiate the goodness of religion .However uncertainty is inseparable from faith .One needs to build upon one’s own faith and there comes the ‘uncertainty factor’. No human is perfect and I wont be rebukes if I say none of us can achieve perfect faith but out Gods, our religion show that there is a supernatural being, a supernatural truth built in the image of a human, it is this truth that serves as a foundation for a building like a religion and which has a roof of faith. This building is strong, assertive, lovable, a temple of morals etc, etc., in short he /she is a good human .Now about that am certain.
